Nach dem Verkauf der Bergwerke (1869) kaufte er von seinem Anteil das Gut Fußdorf (Rantirov) bei Iglau. Über das großzügige Leben in Fußdorf gibt es Berichte in Briefen, „Erinnerungen“ meiner Mutter usw.

Den Kohlenabbau im Schatzlarer Gebiet kann man auf über 400 Jahre zurückverfolgen.
Die ersten Nachrichten stammen aus dem Jahre 1570.
Die vierziger Jahre des vergangenen Jahrhunderts brachten den industriellen Aufschwung im Aupatal und damit einen gewaltigen Bedarf an Steinkohle. So werden im Jahre 1840 nicht weniger als 15 Grubenmaße angeführt. Die vormals zur Herrschaft Schatzlar gehörigen Kohlengruben wurden am 31. Oktober 1842 von dem damaligen Besitzer Karl Pulpan Ritter von Feldstein an seinen Neffen Adolf Freiherr von Silberstein, Herrschaftsbesitzer in Hermannseifen, übergeben. Um diese Zeit wurden vier große Stollen betrieben:

  1. der »Josefistollen« im Niederbusch; Besitzer Familie Gaberle, Schatzlar,
  2. der »Antonistollen« gegen Schwarzwasser; Besitzer sind die Gebrüder Manger,
  3. der »Prokopistollen«, dessen Mundloch gegen die Straße nach Lampersdorf beim Stollengasthause war; Besitzer Herrschaft Schatzlar und
  4. der »Egidistollen« am oberen Pfarrgarten in Oberlampersdorf neben der Halde des »Marienschachtes«, Besitzer Josef Reichelt, Dresden.

Von letzterem fuhren die Hunte bis nach Lampersdorf, wo die Kohlen neben dem Gasthause Rudolf aufgeschüttet wurden. Diese vier Stollen bildeten die Grundlage des jetzigen Bergbaues. Sie erfaßten aber nur das erste bis vierzehnte Flöz des Hangendzuges.

1844 verkauft Johann Reichelt die »Mariahilf« Grubenmaße dem Johann Anton Müller aus Oslavan in Mähren für 36.000 Taler oder 130.000 Gulden,der sie in den sechziger Jahren seinen bergmännisch geschulten Söhnen schenkte. Franz, Absolvent der Leobener Bergakademie, erhielt die Hälfte des Besitzes, Johann und Theodor je ein Viertel. Sie bildeten gemeinsam eine Gewerkschaft, deren Leitung Franz mit dem Titel Bergrat übertragen wurde. Dieser übergab die Leitung seinem erfahrenen Bergmeister Bergingenieur Swider. Nach Swiders Tode 1874 wurde Bergingenieur Josef Peithner Berg-meister und Leiter des Unternehmens. Vom Müller’schen Besitz wurde 1879 ein Teil verkauft, und 1898 gelangte die Müller’sche Gewerkschaft in den Besitz des Westböhmischen Bergbau-Actienvereines (W.B.A.V.) mit Sitz in Wien.

Der »Antonistollen« (Manger in Schwarzwasser) wurde 1840 ins Bergbuch eingetragen. Er war 160 m lang und durchfuhr die Flöze vom neunten angefangen. Seit 1872 waren Besitzer die Herrn Franz und Theodor Müller, seit 1898 der W.A.B.V.
