The sitters on these three portraits of a family are Wolfgang Vinzenz BARON MANNER VON MÄTZELSDORF (1763 Wien- 1831 Brünn), his wife Cecilia Theresia Franziska Xaveria MANNAGETTA VON LERCHENAU (1768 Wien - 1826 Brünn) and their son Wolfgang Raimund REICHSRITTER VON MANNER (1794-1864). Wolfgang Vinzenz Baron Manner von Mätzelsdorf was an Austrian Imperial Hofrat (Court Councellor) and Governor of the region Brunn (now Brno, Czech Republic) awarded with orders such as the Leopold Order and others. The son, Wolfgang Raimund became Austrian Imperial Judge in Moravia (now Czech Republic). All three paintings come from Castle Wuernitz in Lower Austria, which is the family castle of Mannagetta-Lerchenau. Literature: "Die Wappen des Maehrischen Adels", Neustadt an der Aisch, 1979, pages 75-76 and "Oesterreichische National.Enzyklopaedie", Wien 1835, pages 550-551.
Condition: Each in good condition, unlined, in original gilded empire frames. Under ultra violet: father- one minimal touch-up in the background, one minor retouch on the right shoulder. mother - a few unimportant touch-ups on dress and in the background, one minor retouch on the nose. son - a few minimal touch-ups on the face, several touch-ups in the background. Measurements refer to size of each painting.
